A dive into the heart of corruption in 2020. This collection of songs is a way to try to cope and process my feelings / the ideas of how corruption impacts all of us.
All songs are also an experiment in using EQDs Data Corrupter pedal on live drums. There is so much corruption in the air at the time this album was made... it felt really important to address these ideas, or at least explore them through music. I mean, what do I know, besides what I feel. Feelings are meaningless and forgettable. This group of songs is also really inspired by Depeche Mode and Dave's ability and propensity to let songs have space and not fill every minute with vocals.
A beautiful friend of mine (Andru D.) recently asked his community to stop dissing 2020 in attempt to actualize growth and positivity. Corruption. Correction is my best stab at actualizing a better 2020. "I can see the green, bathing in the rusty dreams."
I really took his reminder to heart and appreciate the opportunity to try to be awesome, positive and inspiring. Although I think the overall vibe of this collection is on the darker, bummer city side of things... I did my best to try to be real about how corruption is part of us all, without being a total defeatist.
